I probably have an earlier curfew than anyone.
My mom wants to keep me really safe and my dad's not overly protective, but he's a dad no matter what.
Once when I was 16 I had my car taken away from me for being past curfew.
Oh, and I said a bad word once, and I actually did get my mouth washed out with soap.
When I was prosecutor we had truancy and curfew issues and we made a refrigerator magnet, and that was hot with parents. They loved putting it up on the wall and saying, you know, if you don't follow these rules, you could get prosecuted. Whether or not it actually happens, it changes a culture, and that's part of what we're trying to do here.
All we can do when we think of kids today is think of more hours of school, earlier age at the computer, and curfews. Who would want to grow up in that world?
