I'm a big supporter of Joe Johnston and I think that 'Captain America' is going to be really fun and I gather that the story is really interesting. It just wasn't what I wanted to do next, to be honest.
I had been on the road for a long time and was not really getting anywhere.
Bob Johnston, a friend of mine, had taken over Columbia in Nashville. He asked me if I wanted to come down. I did - thank God I did.
But the advice was not taken - Johnstone did emigrate to Canada, and did mortgage his pension; and I fear - though I failed to trace his after history - that he suffered in consequence.
I used to go with him and I'd sometimes play, take over from him.
That was my first taste of the music business, I suppose, but I was also in the youth orchestra at Johnston Grammar.
