I believe the prayers of 30 years ago are not lost. We may not see the results of our labour or sacrifice immediately, but in due time they will produce much fruit.

Thrilling Our Prayers quotations

For many of us the march from Selma to Montgomery was about protest and prayer.

Legs are not lips and walking is not kneeling. And yet our legs uttered songs. Even without words, our march was worship. I felt my legs were praying.

Our prayers quote If the only prayer you ever say is "thank you", that will be enough.
If the only prayer you ever say is "thank you", that will be enough.

We must pray without ceasing, in every occurrence and employment of our lives - that prayer which is rather a habit of lifting up the heart to God as in a constant communication with Him.

Our prayers quote Sometimes, you just have to bow your head, say a prayer, and weather the storm.
Sometimes, you just have to bow your head, say a prayer, and weather the storm.

God does not delay to hear our prayers because He has no mind to give;

but that, by enlarging our desires, He may give us the more largely.

First comes the sweat. Then comes the beauty if you're very lucky and have said your prayers.

I continue to dream and pray about a revival of holiness in our day that moves forth in mission and creates authentic community in which each person can be unleashed through the empowerment of the Spirit to fulfill God's creational intentions.

Our prayers quote Prayer is when you talk to god, meditation is when god talks to you.
Prayer is when you talk to god, meditation is when god talks to you.

Real prayer is communion with God, so that there will be common thoughts between His mind and ours. What is needed is for Him to fill our hearts with His thoughts, and then His desires will become our desires flowing back to Him.

After you have made a decision that is pleasing to God, the Devil may try to make you have second thoughts. Intensify your prayer time, meditation, and good deeds. For if Satan's temptations merely cause you to increase your efforts to grow in holiness, he'll have an incentive to leave you alone.

More things are wrought by prayer than this world dreams of.

Our prayers quote Prayer is the key to heaven but faith unlocks the door.
Prayer is the key to heaven but faith unlocks the door.

To sweat is to pray, to make an offering of your innermost self.

Sweat is holy water, prayer beads, pearls of liquid that release your past. The more you dance... the more you sweat, the more you pray. The more you pray, the closer you are to ecstasy.

If we do not fill our mind with prayer, it will fill itself with anxieties, worries, temptations, resentments, and unwelcome memories.

Joys and sorrows are time-born and cannot last.

Therefore, do not be perturbed by these. The greater the difficulties and obstructions, the more intense will be your endeavor to cling to His feet and the more will your prayer increase from within. And when the time is ripe, you will gain mastery over this power.

Our prayers quote God answers all prayers. Sometimes the answer is no.
God answers all prayers. Sometimes the answer is no.

Prayer is the greatest power God has put into our hands for service - praying is harder than doing, at least I find it so, but the dynamic lies that way to advance the Kingdom.

Not as common bread or as common drink do we receive these.

....We have been taught that the food that has been Eucharistized by the word of prayer, that food which by assimilation nourishes our flesh and blood, is the flesh and blood of the incarnate Jesus.

Let us pray for ourselves, that we may not lose the word “concern” out of our Christian vocabulary. Let us pray for our nation. Let us pray for those who have never known Jesus Christ and redeeming love, for moral forces everywhere, for our national leaders. Let prayer be our passion. Let prayer be our practice.

Our prayers quote If the only prayer you said was "Thank you", that would be enough.
If the only prayer you said was "Thank you", that would be enough.

All of us would be wiser if we would resolve never to put people down, except on our prayer lists.

All your experiences, all your meditations, all your prayer, all that you do, is self-centred. It is strengthening the self, adding momentum, gathering momentum, so it is taking you in the opposite direction. Whatever you do to be free from the self also is a self-centred activity.

Our prayer must not be self-centered.

It must arise not only because we feel our own need as a burden we must lay upon God, but also because we are so bound up in love for our fellow men that we feel their need as acutely as our own. To make intercession for men is the most powerful and practical way in which we can express our love for them.

Our prayers quote What you cannot achieve with your efforts, you can achieve with prayer.
What you cannot achieve with your efforts, you can achieve with prayer.

If we grow wiser and more learned in our intercourse with wise and learned persons, how much more will we gain in our inner life by communing with God in prayer.

We pray because our life comes from God and we yield it back in prayer.

Prayer is a great antidote to the illusion that we are self-made.

The prayer of the feeblest saint who lives in the Spirit and keeps right with God is a terror to Satan. The very powers of darkness are paralyzed by prayer; no spiritualistic seance can succeed in the presence of a humble praying saint. No wonder Satan tries to keep our minds fussy in active work till we cannot think in prayer.

Our prayers quote Prayer is the key of the morning and bolt of the evening.
Prayer is the key of the morning and bolt of the evening.

They who pray with faith have fervour and fervour is the fire of prayer.

This mysterious fire has the power of consuming all our faults and imperfections, and of giving to our actions, vitality, beauty and merit.

Let us never forget to pray. God lives. He is near. He is real. He is not only aware of us but cares for us. He is our Father. He is accessible to all who will seek Him.

Truth is not obtained cheaply. It demands much time given to prayer and study of the Scriptures, followed by practical application in our daily lives. It must take priority over the many forms of cheap entertainment offered by our secular culture. It is a lifetime commitment.

Our prayers quote Under certaion circumstances, profanity provides a relief denied even to prayer.
Under certaion circumstances, profanity provides a relief denied even to prayer.

Prayer is not asking. Prayer is putting oneself in the hands of God, at His disposition, and listening to His voice in the depth of our hearts.

You could remove the powerful preaching from our church and it would still continue. You could remove the administration of pastoral care through the cell group system and the church would still continue. But if you remove the prayer life of our church it would collapse.

I strongly suspect that if we saw all the difference even the tiniest of our prayers make, and all the people those...prayers were destined to affect...we would be so paralyzed with awe...that we would be unable to get up off our knees for the rest of our lives.

Our prayers quote Never underestimate the amazing power of prayer.
Never underestimate the amazing power of prayer.

Every one of our children will be brought into the ark, if we pray and work earnestly for them.

The liberty, prosperity, and the happiness of our country will always be the object of my most fervent prayers to the Supreme Author of All Good.

It often happens that we pray God to deliver us from some dangerous temptation, and yet that God does not hear us, but permits the temptation to continue troubling us. In such a case, let us understand that God permits even this for our greater good.

Our prayers quote If the only prayer you ever say is "Thank you", that will be enough.
If the only prayer you ever say is "Thank you", that will be enough.

The secret of our lost mode of prayer is to shift our perspective of life by feeling that the miracle has already happened and our prayers have been answered. Now we have the opportunity to bring this wisdom into our lives as prayers of gratitude for what already exists, rather than asking for our prayers to be answered.

Our forgiving love toward men is the evidence of God's forgiving love in us.

It is a necessary condition of the prayer of faith.

People may resist our advice, spurn our appeals, reject our suggestions, refuse our help, but they are powerless against our prayers.

Prayer is like a secret garden made up of silence and rest and inwardness.

But there are a thousand and one doors into this garden and we all have to find our own.

People may refuse our love or reject our message, but they are defenseless against our prayers.
