When they first cast me, I was a pretty avid fan and vampire movies and Celtic mythology, so I was excited to get a chance to walk in Doyle's shoes and have fun with it.— Glenn Quinn
Sublime Vampire Movie quotations
No! Try not. Do, or do not. There is no try.
Claudia... you've been a very very naughty little girl.
People are used to being stimulated. People are drunk on entertainment and when you're going out and seeing movies where 200 people are machine gunned down and vampires are tearing people's throats out, and I'm not saying that is bad or it should be censored, but people are drunk on stimuli.
I'm not interested in a realistic look - not at all, not ever. Every film should look the way I feel.
About three things I was absolutely positive.
First, Edward was a vampire. Second, there was a part of him - and I didn’t know how potent that part might be - that thirsted for my blood. And third, I was unconditionally and irrevocably in love with him.
Should we put out the light? And then put out the light.
But once put out thy light, I cannot give it vital breath again. It needs must wither.
I love scary movies, but I'd never really even seen The Vampire Diaries, up until I met [Kevin Williamson].
All you need to make a movie is a girl and a gun.
You know, what's popular? Okay, vampires are very popular.
Let me make my vampire movie. I'm not saying you can't make a vampire movie. But if you're going to do one do something crazy. I mean don't just get a bunch of, like I said, models and make them into vampires so you'll get an audience. You know maybe get some ugly vampires for a change.
One of my favorite vampire movies is 'Nosferatu,' which has a palpable sense of dread that's a pre-war dread.
Evil is a point of view ... God kills, and so shall we; indiscriminately ... for no creatures under God are as we are, none so like Him as ourselves. God kills indiscriminately and so shall we. For no creatures under God are as we are none so like him as ourselves.
I think movies are getting dumber, actually. Where it used to be 50/50 and it's 3% good and 97% stupid.
I can't compare these movies (Vampire Academy/Twilight/Harry Potter).
Every single one of them has their own mythology.
I was particularly stunned by the casting of Cruise, who is no more my Vampire Lestat than Edward G. Robinson is Rhett Butler.
I know nothing of God or the Devil. I have never seen a vision nor learned a secret that would damn or save my soul.
Great moments are born from great opportunities.
I figured that, if you do a vampire movie in Hollywood, you've made it.
I am actually working on The Neighbors sitcom.
We are starting from scratch. I am also working on a comedy movie and a vampire movie. I also have the pilot for The Tommy Wiseau Show and of course The House That Drips Blood On Alex, which we are hoping to make a sequel.
It is very different. I mean, it was immediately different because it's a human being and it's not a vampire and it's not fighting monsters. This isn't the kind of movie that's got the comic book style of fighting to it. It was a bit more gritty.
To make a great film need three things - the script, the script and the script.
Vampires pretending to be humans pretending to be vampires ... How avant-garde!
I was kind of a dark kid. I loved Halloween, and I loved vampires and the black and white old monster movies.
His blood coursed through my veins sweeter than life itself.
And as it did, Lestats words made sense to me. I knew peace only when I killed and when I heard his heart in that terrible rhythm, I knew again what peace could be.
I was a newborn vampire, weeping at the beauty of the night.
Louis: You see that old woman? That will never happen to you.
You will never grow old, and you will never die. Claudia: And it means something else too, doesn't it? I shall never ever grow up.
The world changes, we do not, therein lies the irony that kills us.
Actually I liked that 'Let the Right One In,' that Swedish vampire movie.
There are a lot of movies with vampires and monsters and super-great effects, but if there's no humor or human relations, I don't think it's ever worth seeing.
But just remember, life without me would be even more unbearable.
Goodnight sweet prince, may flights of devils wing you to your rest.
I remember being a kid and sleeping over at my friend's house and staying up late and watching 'Nosferatu.' Vampire movies are supposed to be secret and bad. They should be rated R.
The vampire movies I embraced as a kid used vampirism as a metaphor that expressed deep sadness and a lot of human qualities.
My first real kiss was actually on the set of The Vampire's Assistant, with Jessica Carlson who plays my crush in the movie. I was 15, she was 14. It was actually her first kiss too, so it was an interesting situation!
We've been shooting the last two weeks with a lot of vampires.
I don't want to give away too much, but if you've read the books, it's the standoff with lots of vampires in play. There's like 70 people going through the works at once. It's a little maddening, but fun. We shot pretty much the ending of the two movies the other day.
What I like about the third movie is you get to see a side of Carlisle you haven't seen before. You actually get to see what his vampire capabilities are because there's some great battle sequences. It's my favorite book. Carlisle is holding on to that humanity. He doesn't want to be a vampire.
It's difficult to do a genre film well, and it doesn't matter if you're talking vampire movies or 'Dawn of the Dead' or 'The Thing' or 'Escape From New York.' Those kind of movies, they understand what the old-school B-movie is supposed to be, they get the throwback of it.
I think that my vampires in general were influenced by my being allowed to watch the Hammer vampire films. Vampire Circus, also shown as Circus of Fear, was one of those movies.
I like zombie movies. I like 'The Walking Dead;' I like the metaphor of it, simply because when we go with the zombie concept - if you're bitten by a zombie, you don't transform into something else like a vampire or a werewolf or whatever. You become something that's not you.
For me personally, I think I just enjoy movies about werewolves or vampires because it's not like an everyday thing. It's something you can really escape into. Underworld I'm a huge fan of because it's a great love story, but at the same time when it comes to vampires and werewolves it's just such a fantasy. It has everything involved in it. Action, it's sexy, it's interesting, there's just so many things involved in it that make it so cool.
Some of my fondest and most impressionable movie memories are from those early sci-fi and horror films. I've always been a Dracula/vampire aficionado, being half-Romanian myself. Dracula has always been close to my heart - in fact, I have a first edition of Bram Stoker's book. I read it over and over again as a young kid.
