Naturally, when it comes to voting, we in Texas are accustomed to discerning that fine hair’s-breadth worth of difference that makes one hopeless dipstick slightly less awful than the other. But it does raise the question: Why bother?

Change is a journey and the journey is always about change.

And if there is no change, why bother with the journey? And the best journeys require lots of space of one sort or another. So for great journeys - just open space.

For too long, decisions have been taken behind closed doors - tablets of stone have simply been past down to people without bothering to involve people, listen to their views or give them information about what we are doing and why.

When I write I'll sometimes say things which are somewhat controversial - not because I'm seeking out controversy for its own sake, but if I don't have anything to say which is different, why am I bothering to write stuff down in the first place?

Having spent alarmingly large chunks of my life studying the white side of the Open Sicilian, I find myself asking, why did I bother?

If you want to climb it badly enough, you will. So... why bother ?

Middle Age is that perplexing time of life when we hear two voices calling us, one saying, "Why not?" and the other, "Why bother?"

I've been to nudist beaches, like twice.

But honestly, I just don't want to see these people naked. Most people look better with their clothes on, and the few that don't, look better than you, so why bother?

I believe many Harley guys spend more time revving their engines than actually driving anywhere; I sometimes wonder why they bother to have wheels on their motorcycles.

If there is no God, why bother to tell the truth? Why not steal?
