Long ago the country bore the country-town and nourished it with her best blood.
Now the giant city sucks the country dry, insatiably and incessantly demanding and devouring fresh streams of men, till it wearies and dies in the midst of an almost uninhabited waste of country.
I would like to see us get this place right first before we have the arrogance to put significantly flawed civilizations out onto other planets, even though they may be utterly uninhabited.
Well, my friend, this earth will one day be that cold corpse;
it will become uninhabitable and uninhabited like the moon, which has long since lost all its vital heat.
