Byron Dorgan is an American politician who served as a United States Senator from North Dakota from 1992 to 2011. He was a member of the Democratic-NPL Party and a member of the Senate Appropriations Committee. He also served as chairman of the Senate Democratic Policy Committee and was a senior member of the Senate Energy and Water Appropriations Subcommittee.
